2019 and The Olive Tree | Hayley Gibbs Photography

As 2018 came to a close and I looked back over the year from a business stand point I was burdened. While the year was successful and many blessings came from it, I still didn't feel like I had done everything He wanted me to do. I felt like I had missed something. I knew that God had been calling me to do something more and I had been praying about it every day but I didn't have a clear answer on what it was.

I'm probably not like most people who start a new year with a mile long list of resolutions. You know, those pesky things that we let and around our necks come February 1st because we may have completed the first weeks of full speed dedication but fell off the bandwagon. Yeah I didn't feel like I wanted to set myself up for that this year. Instead I decided that I was going to run the race with God and for God this year.

I started my 2019 focusing on Him and spending more intentional time with Him (and I still am but go with me here). One day after me praying so hard for God to give me confirmation on what He is calling me to do, I heard it. Loud and clear. While I'm not quite ready to share what He has given me yet, I do want to say that He is working on big things. I'm diligently searching after Him and His purpose in this business.

"Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established" Proverbs 16:3. One of the first changes I'm making is a new logo. The olive tree is shown throughout the entire bible numerous times. I chose the olive branch to incorporate into my logo because it really made me think about how much my life resembles it. You see it takes much work and "grafting" to produce olive oil. Olive oil resembled many things in the Bible but the one that really stuck with me is the use of it fueling a lamp.

"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine so bright before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16

So I'm sure you're thinking you need to google what grafting evens means. Let me put this into perspective for you. An olive tree can have a weak root and not produce any fruit or it can have an established root and produce small or no fruit. Grafting is taking some of a strong root and good fruit tree and embedding it into the weaker tree. Do you see yet?

I don't know about y'all but that makes me want to run around praising HIS name! That He is such a loving God that takes the time to graft in US to make us stronger in HIM!

"My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. " James 1:2-4

2019, I'm committed to doing the Lord's work and I'm so excited to show you guys what He is working on! Stay tuned to hear all about it soon!
